A boyfriend is born!

On December 9th, Miles Bennett Skousen was born to my college roommate Autumn and her husband Tim! He is the cutest boy baby ever, a fitting match for our sweet girl baby. We will be in Utah in two weeks, and we will be visiting Autumn and Tim to meet this little guy. Let the matchmaking begin! Welcome to the world, Miles! Hope you're less of a troublemaker than your mom, or at least hopefully you'll eat less candy...

What A Blessing!

This weekend we blessed Kenley at church. Grandpa and Grandma Hampton and Uncle Scott all came down from Utah for the occasion, and got to meet Kenley for the first time! Brooke and Chad joined us at the church for the blessing. It was such a fun weekend having everyone together!

Grandma Kerry was nice enough to host a huge dinner on Sunday night. The crowd included: Katie, James, Kenley, Grandma Kerry and Grandpa Kirk, Grandpa Jim and Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Greg and Grandma Joanie, Scott, Andrea, Brooke, Chad, Carli, Brooke's sister Angie, family friend Jen, and Jen's brother Brian. Whew! Way to go, Mom, for taking on the challenge! We had a gorgeous and delicious dinner, and lots of fun hanging out!

A Big Halloweenie!

Kenley was a pink leopard for Halloween, and of course she looked adorable! However, she cried at the pumpkin patch, and each of the three Halloween parties we went to. I just told everyone they were leopard howls, but seriously... cheer up! It's Halloween! Your mommy's getting lots of candy! Maybe she was just bitter because nobody was handing out milk...

We are having so much fun with Kenley. Every time we look at her she has grown more rolls of baby chub, and she has several chins now. She is changing all the time, and of course we just think she is getting cuter and cuter!

The Results Are In!!!!!

This has been long-awaited. (Sometimes I lose things...)

So...we had a small bet going before the birth of the baby (unfortunately no money...) about the date, weight, and length of the bouncing baby girl.

It was exclusively among Katie's relatives as we did it in AK. Here we go:

Length: 20"
Winners: Great Aunt Michelle, Great Aunt Gail, Grandma Kerry

Weight: 7 lbs 2 oz
Winner: Kelsey

Date: Sept 12
Winners: Great Aunt Gail, Aunt Andrea

Sorry to make anyone feel old with all those "Great"s. But you guys really are great. :)

Note: Not only did Aunt Andrea win the date (which is the most important catergory anyway) but she was only 1" off on the length and a mere 2 oz.s off on the weight. Uncle Scott has no chance of being the favorite now.

DISCLAIMER: These results vary slightly from those previously published as Aunt Andrea was somewhat misinformed. (Or rather had misremembered.) This is in no way related to any pressure felt by the recent comment posted delicately accusing Auntie A of swaying the results.

Today we went to Katie and James's to watch conference. Kenley gets more expressive every day. It's fun to watch her be confused every time she wakes up. I guess there's still a lot to learn.

Katie and James are getting the parent thing down well so far. They've got their division of labors. James even set his ring tone for Katie calling to be a recording of Kenley crying so he won't feel like he's missing out too much when he's at work.

Lucy (the dog) is still trying to get used to the idea of Kenley. This is especially hard when she can't get close enough to really figure out who or what Kenley is. All in all, it's good times. :)
