Rocky Lake with Troxells

You wouldn't think, living together and all, that it would be difficult to do things with the Troxells. But in the year that we've lived here, we haven't managed to really ever plan anything with our two families. So waaaaay back in April we reserved a weekend to take the Troxells up to the lake at the end of July. The cabin belongs to the other side of my family, so Troxells had never been there before.

The kids had a great time splashing in the lake, going on the zip line, and playing in the cabin. The adults got in lots of naps, reading, and eating. Can't get much better than that!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to suddenly acquire a twin? Just ask Parker and Carter. They are absolutely inseparable. We always joke that they are attached by an umbilical cord, because they are never more than a few feet apart.

Oh yeah, and we had GORGEOUS weather, despite the fact that it was supposed to rain. Perfect.

Crow Creek Mine

I'm so behind on blogging! Our computer has been acting up, but we're still here alive and well!

When my dad and Joanie were here, we went up to a place in Girdwood called Crow Creek Mine. It was an old mining settlement, and you can look around at the old buildings and pan for gold. It was sooooo beautiful up there - tons of flowers everywhere and a gorgeous mountain view!

The kids loved throwing rocks into the river and digging with the little shovels WAY more than they liked panning for gold!

Here Moosey, Moosey

The other day we were getting ready to head to playgroup when we noticed a baby moose hanging out near our van. It was on the opposite side of the fence, but these moose can step over our fences like they're nothing. For those unfamiliar with moose, they can be aggressive at times, especially when it's a mommy protecting her baby. So since we didn't see mommy anywhere and didn't know what our situation was, we just hung out on our porch and watched for a little while. It's always so cool to see moose in and around the yard (as long as we're a comfortable distance away)!

Enjoying the Sunshine

We've had a few amazing weeks of sunshine and warmth, and we've been outside enjoying every minute of it!
