Well, since I know you all have been waiting with bated breath to see how the trip went, I thought I'd do a quick update. The plane trip went GREAT, despite the potential to be awful. I realized the night before that I was going to be keeping Parker up until 2:30 with no nap, so I was super nervous. But first awesome thing is that they let my mom come through security and back to the gate with me, which was a HUGE help. Then we got on the plane and were able to take an extra seat for Parker. The kids played, ate snacks, and stayed happy all the way to Albuquerque. I even got to read some of my magazine I brought in a fit of optimism. Then once we got to Albuquerque, things started to take a turn for the worse, at least potentially. We lost our extra seat, but this super nice grandma lady sat by us and was so sweet, helpful, and patient. Then once the whole plane was loaded up and ready to leave, we found out we'd be delayed about 40 minutes due to weather in Dallas. Fantastic. I almost started to cry because I did NOT need this with one kid on my lap and one about to need a nap. But guess what? I look over and Parker is ASLEEP!!!! If you know my kid, you know this is nothing short of a miracle. Parker doesn't sleep in public anymore, period. The last few times we were able to get him to sleep were a huge effort, and LOTS of screaming before he gave in. He just fell asleep sitting there in his carseat on the tarmac! So 40 minutes passed and they announced we were ready to go. I put the DVD player away, get Kenley on my lap, and then they announce that George Bush is leaving Albuquerque and the airport is shut down for at least 45 minutes. Argh. Seriously. But Kenley was pretty good, and then once we were finally leaving, KENLEY fell asleep during takeoff! That's right, my girl who no longer naps. So the two of them slept pretty much all the way to Dallas as I said thank-you prayers into the dog harness that Kenley had refused to take off that was smushed in my face. Oh, and finished my Real Simple magazine. Nice, huh? The trip went better than my best hopes.
So we're in Dallas with four kids under the age of three. Kenley and Carli are three days apart, both turn three in September. Parker just turned one and Nate is about to, so you can imagine the craziness. Lunch today was a giant production. We are going through massive amounts of food and dishes. I think I'm going to have to get more organized before having any more kids. :) So I've gotten tons of cute pictures that I'll post later!

Holy Cow!!! I'm sooo happy for you. I have yet to have a great airport experience....having your mom come to the gate with you is the best part---what did you have to say to get her in?? I'm soo doing that next time. So great--hope it goes as well on the way back!
I am missing each of you like crazy. I can't believe the naps. Talk about a tender mercy! Have a great time in Texas. Love, mom
