After a year of taking care of her generic Target doll, Kenley was offered the opportunity to get a real American Girl Doll as her only birthday present. After thinking long and hard about it for almost a year, she decided to do it. Little did she know that I had a surprise up my sleeve in California, where they have one of only a few store locations for the American Girl Dolls (not one in Alaska - weird, huh?), so that she could pick it out in person. We made a date of it with Kenley's two grandma's and headed up to Los Angeles to get her doll. This girl was in heaven.
This is the doll Kenley chose. She named her Charlotte.
We both had fun dressing her up and brushing her hair.
Afterwards we ate at the American Girl Cafe. They made everything so adorable. Kenley whispered right about this time, "This is all even more amazing than I dreamed it would be!"
Cheers! Welcome to the family, Charlotte. You've got an awesome little girl to take care of you!
