My kids were soooooo excited to have a new baby cousin! They love their cousins so much, and couldn't wait to have another one! People kept asking the kids if they wanted another sibling, and all of them were adamantly against it. Kenley explained so eloquently, "Babies are good to have for cousins, not a brother or sister. Because they are so cute to look at, but when they are crying and crying, they can just go home." Ha ha. My feelings exactly!
My kids were desperate to see Watson in the hospital, but they weren't allowed. When Andrea finally brought him over a few days later, apparently the novelty had worn off, because this was their reaction:
Claire soon warmed up to him and was able to get just a little bit closer.
Then we went to Build-A-Bear to make a special gift for Watson. All my kids have animals from Build-A-Bear that we made when I was pregnant with them, so my mom had the idea to make one for Watson!
Everyone took a heart and did the little poem before putting it in the bear. Their little poem always makes me a little teary-eyed. ;)
The bear got a heart from Claire, Parker, Kenley, me, Mom, Brianne, Scott, AND Max! Watson is soooo loved! The hearts were bursting out his back before he was sewn up!
When we got home, the kids were a little bit braver about holding Watson. Claire LOVED patting his head. In almost all our pictures from the rest of the trip with Claire and Watson, she's patting his little head.
Watson, we are so happy to have you! As long as you go home when you cry.
